LibreLinkUp — FAQ

Is LibreLinkUp a scam?

The reviews do not support calling LibreLinkUp a scam in the usual sense; it is presented as a real companion app for FreeStyle Libre sharing. The trust issue raised in recent reviews is reliability and safety: many users say recent updates made monitoring, alerts, loading, or connections fail, which is a serious concern for a caregiver app.

Hello my father is dangerously diabetic. He is on insulin and can die any night in his sleep. My family and I have been using this app upon request of the diabetic specialist. It worked fine for years and now all of a sudden the app opens but never loads on all of our phones. This was before I updated the app, and upon updating and reinstalling the app still fails to load. I am familiar with software development. This is seriously not right, and a bug like this should never have left testing.

Is LibreLinkUp legit?

LibreLinkUp appears to be a legitimate FreeStyle Libre companion app, and some reviewers still describe it as useful or easy to read. However, recent reviews also describe major failures after updates, so “legit” does not necessarily mean dependable for every caregiver or phone right now.

A great resource. Had an issue but resolved through support very quickly. thanks 👍

Why is LibreLinkUp not showing glucose readings or recent data?

A major complaint in recent reviews is that LibreLinkUp connects or opens but does not show current glucose readings, often showing no recent data or failing to receive information after updates. Users report reinstalling, clearing cache, forcing stop, or re-sending invites without fixing it.

Previous version worked. This one is poor so far. I downloaded the new app version with a different logo (black/yellow not red) and for weeks I have had no readings. The app says I am connected to my mother, it has her name, and notified me today of a new sensor. But no glucose readings. I have tried forcing stop and reinstalling. I don't know what else I can do.

Are LibreLinkUp alerts and notifications reliable?

Recent reviews raise serious doubts about LibreLinkUp notifications, especially low and high glucose alerts. Reviewers say alerts stopped after updates, arrive late, do not notify the phone, or fail during nighttime lows, which is especially concerning for caregiver monitoring.

Since the update, I'm not getting any notifications. The app sees that my partner's blood glucose is outside the range and puts an alert in the app, but no notification on the phone like there used to be. He's recently has two hypos in the night and no alerting. Give us back the old reliable app!!

Why does LibreLinkUp keep asking me to log in or repeat the tutorial?

Several recent reviews say LibreLinkUp repeatedly logs users out and forces them through the tutorial again, sometimes every time the app is opened. This appears to be tied to recent updates and makes the app hard to rely on for quick caregiver checks.

One of the recent updates made the app impossible to use. I'll receive push notifications, but if I open the app, I'm prompted to login and go through a first time user tutorial. This happens every time I try to open the app! I'll continue getting push alerts while logging in, makes no sense. Bugs like this have made the app impossible to use or rely on.

Why does LibreLinkUp freeze, crash, or get stuck loading?

Reviews frequently describe LibreLinkUp freezing, not opening, or getting stuck on tutorial or logo screens, including after phone or app updates. Some users say reinstalling and rebooting did not resolve it, so this is not just a minor inconvenience for those affected.

👀 Look at your reviews for this update! Update is freezing up my phone Samsung A15. I have uninstalled, rebooted, and installed 3 times. as soon as I login. it pops up Start Tutorial and is stuck. Last night my wife hit low and app would not respond!

Why does LibreLinkUp keep disconnecting?

Connection problems are a common theme in recent reviews. Users say LibreLinkUp loses connection, disconnects from the patient device, or reports no signal even when they depend on it to monitor a family member remotely.

Since the new update, the LibreLinkUp app has practically stopped working. It constantly loses connection, shows "no signal," freezes, and has become completely unreliable. This has caused a great deal of stress for me as the caregiver because I depend on it to monitor my loved one. I contacted customer support, but unfortunately they weren't able to help. The representative didn't offer any troubleshooting beyond what you find in theHelp section in the app, and the issue is still unresolved. Bo

Are LibreLinkUp readings accurate?

Most complaints focus on missing data and alerts, but some reviews also question accuracy. The most concerning review says the app reported a dangerously low blood sugar when the actual value was much higher, so users should be cautious about relying on the app alone when readings do not match symptoms or other checks.

horrible and not safe!!!!! do not get it! it told me my husband's blood sugar was 45. it wasn't. it was 250. I GAVE HIM SUGAR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT! it also doesn't work half the time. my husband's app glitches out and gives him the wrong number and it's beyond off. both of the apps are absolutely horrible. I don't recommend. a finger prick is much more accurate. this has gotten up to 200 plus points off. even on his actual device. the link isn't a real link that you gave me.

Can you snooze, dismiss, or customize LibreLinkUp alarms?

Reviewers repeatedly ask for better alarm controls. The reviews suggest users want a snooze or delay between repeated low alerts, the ability to dismiss alarms, and more control over alarm sound or volume; the current experience is frustrating for some caregivers.

Great app, love the new updates but like other users have described there needs to be a way to snooze the low sugar alerts as they go off very frequently even when my partner has had sugar, it takes about 10 15 mins for his levels to go back up so the alarm is just going off every few minutes until then

Does LibreLinkUp work with smartwatches or home screen widgets?

The app description here does not promise smartwatch or widget support, and reviews do not show reliable watch integration. Users ask for a home screen widget and Samsung Watch support, while another reviewer says they could not connect it to a watch.

This is a very good app. Please consider the following suggestions: - Please add a home screen widget so users can view their data without having to open the app. - When we add notes or log insulin doses in the Libre app, it would be great if those notes and insulin entries could also be displayed in this app. Thank you for your attention. - and also pls add this app on samsung watch . if u have any questions, please feel free to ask.
