Is Subway® a scam?
The reviews do not show that Subway® is a fake app, but they do raise serious trust concerns. Some users say the app overcharged them, failed to apply deals, lost or trapped gift card money, or offered little usable support after a bad order. If you install it, be careful with gift cards, promo orders, and payments until you confirm the final charge.
New app is complete garbage. Cannot split payment between a gift card and credit card. Cannot transfer/combine balances on gift cards. You're left with multiple gift cards with small balances that cannot be used. They're essentially stealing your money. These are basic functions that have not worked for MONTHS since the new app was released and were clearly left out on purpose. Corporate greed strikes again. No wonder they continue losing market share and business. Borderline criminal.

Is Subway® legit?
Subway® appears to be the real ordering and rewards app for the Subway restaurant chain, and some reviewers say recent updates made it easier to use. However, recent reviews also describe major reliability problems with login, checkout, coupons, gift cards, location selection, and device compatibility, so “legit” does not necessarily mean trouble-free.
Wow, the July 2026 update made it MUCH better! It's gone from one of the worst to one of the best. what I was most likely to pick was pretty much first up. and it didn't force me into choosing a location if I liked the location. Good job subway!

Does Subway® actually let you place an order?
Ordering is the biggest practical complaint in these reviews. Many users say they cannot get through checkout, the payment button freezes, stores or items will not load, or the app simply refuses to place an order. A few reviewers report successful ordering, but the recent negative reports are strong enough that you should not assume ordering will work smoothly.
Why does the payment button freeze/not respond? Place an order and then the app won't let you pay for it.

Why can’t I log in to Subway®?
Several reviewers report being unable to log in because of authentication errors, email-code sessions expiring, password problems, or the app rejecting normal email addresses. For those users, the app becomes unusable because they cannot reach ordering or rewards features.
Can't even log in. Get message stating "Authentication error: JSON Parse error: Unexpected character:" no matter how careful I am in typing my email address. Subway will not get any of my business until this is fixed.

Do Subway® coupons, deals, and rewards work in the app?
Reviews frequently complain that coupons, promo codes, BOGO offers, Sub Club deals, or rewards do not apply even when users believe they meet the terms. Some also say rewards do not update or points disappeared after an update. The app description promotes Subway Rewards and exclusive offers, but the review sample shows that redeeming them can be unreliable.
This app is consistently the worst online experience for me. I stopped ordering from Subway because of how terrible this app is, but I saw there was an update, so I thought I'd give it a shot again, my mistake. The app still refuses to let me apply deals, coupons, or promo codes, and it doesn't update my rewards. I tried favoriting the subs I put together for my fam to try to clear the bag to make the deals work, but it didn't and I couldn't add one of the favorited subs back because of bad UI.

Can I use Subway® gift cards in the app?
Gift cards are a major pain point in the reviews. Users say they cannot split payment between a gift card and a credit card, cannot combine or transfer balances, and can be left with small unusable balances. Some also report missing gift card balances after app changes, so it is worth being cautious before loading or relying on gift cards in the app.
There needs to be away to use multiple gift cards that are already loaded in the app. There is no transfer balance feature to combine gift cards like it once did. There should be a feature to use both a gift card and a credit card on the same order. The app works great other than those things.

Does Subway® work in Canada?
Canadian users in the reviews report serious problems, including the app defaulting to the U.S. version, not recognizing Canada, failing to find Canadian stores, and preventing online orders or deals. One reviewer shared a workaround using the Subway Canada website profile location, but the app itself appears unreliable for some Canada-based users in this sample.
if you're in Canada don't even bother it won't work. this app used to be amazing and now I can't even use it. What happened to this app? It seems to have recently updated to an American version or something (Sub Club?) that no longer supports Canada. If you are in Canada it wants you to log in as a guest?? What happened to the old version??

Why does Subway® say it is not compatible with my phone?
A noticeable cluster of reviewers say Subway® suddenly became unavailable or “not compatible” on recent Android phones, including Pixel and Galaxy devices. Based on these reviews, this can happen even to users who say the app worked before and their phone software is current.
The app says its not compatible with my phone anymore, a recent phone fully up-to-date with the latest android updates.

Can I cancel a Subway® order in the app or get a refund?
Reviews suggest order cancellation and refunds are difficult. Users say there is no in-app cancel button, they have to call the store, and support may be hard to reach or unhelpful. If you accidentally choose the wrong store or address, the reviews do not give much confidence that the app will help you fix it quickly.
No way to cancel an order except for trying to call the store itself but when no one answers the phone you're out of luck. Also zero real customer service, instead when trying to get help it redirects you to a guest help service website run by a braindead a.i assistant which is of no help.
