Why can't I log in to MyUPMC after the update?
Recent reviewers repeatedly report being locked out after the update, including failures with username and password, biometric login, verification codes, and accounts no longer being recognized. Several say this blocked them from checking appointment details or accessing their account, and some mention needing to call support.
l can't log into my account using my password / username or the biometric login.I have tried multiple times. l have an appointment scheduled soon and can't log in to find the date and time. The old system was much easier to use. Frustrated!
the new app locked me out of my account cant access my account can't find out when my appointments are says it doesn't know my name email address or phone number whoever decided to do this should be fired you can't update your your system without locking out your customers the night before they have an appointment you should be fired app without locking out your customers you should be fired
destroyed my previous login information. forced to call help desk which doesn't answer due to unusually high call volume. I wonder why...?

Is MyUPMC compatible with my Android phone, tablet, Chromebook, or Kindle Fire?
Compatibility is a major concern in the reviews. Users report that devices which previously worked, including older phones, a Kindle Fire, a Chrome laptop, and at least one Android tablet, stopped working or could not open the app after the update. The reviews do not give a full supported-device list.
Message: My phone is not compatible with this app. Used to be. I know...get a more updated phone, but financially unable to at this time. I lose.
MYUPMC instructed me to update, but now after years of use my Kindle fire isn't a proper device. Please correct this, I get test results on this app.
Don't work with Android, tech support said to uninstall now can't even download

Is the new MyUPMC app harder to use than the old app?
The reviews are sharply split, but the negative feedback about the redesign is detailed. Many reviewers who compare versions say the old app was easier, the new layout hides things, and navigation is less intuitive. A smaller group praises the update as easier to navigate and better organized.
Terrible upgrade. Everything is hidden and difficult to find. The previous version was SO MUCH BETTER! They should have left it alone. It's also not up to date. Extremely poor design. I wouldn't use it if I didn't have to.
not nearly as easy to use and intuitive as the UPMC app it replaced. clunky to sign in. navigation is more involved.
The new and improved app is beyond easy to navigate.Scheduling appointments, being able to communicate with my doctor's, refills, test results ,the list is endless. Nothing but compliments no complaints! Thank you!

Can I message my doctor in MyUPMC?
Messaging doctors is one of the app’s advertised uses and several positive reviews say it works well for contacting providers. However, post-update complaints say some existing conversations were disrupted, some doctors or care-team contacts disappeared, or a second message could not be sent.
Great app for UPMC patients or even if you're looking for a new doctor. It has everything: your document reports from doctor appointments, and it even shows you test results from appointments or the emergency room. You can also email your doctors from the app or website, and they get back to you in a reasonable amount of time. It's like your one-stop shop for everything health-wise. 😃 I love it, especially since I'm bed-bound. This app helps me video call my doctors and do what I need to do to
new app update. patients are in chats with their doctors and mid conversation for 5 days there is no way to talk to them. this transition wasn't handled week from the user POV. the UI for epic isn't great but typically the functionality is good. well see
need to send second message and doesn't allow..!!

Can I see test results, appointments, and medical records in MyUPMC?
Some reviewers praise MyUPMC for showing test results, doctor reports, appointments, and other health information. But the update complaints include missing test-result detail, inaccurate health information, outdated or missing reminders, and appointment problems, so this is not consistently reliable in the recent reviews.
Early yet but detail on test results that was available previously is not available now.
Update: The response is just proof of the complete uselessness of the app now! It has nothing to do with "taking time" to get used to it! All of my health information is wrong now and there's no way to fix it. My emails weren't answered. Epic, Mychart is horrific and that's what this is now. It's inaccurate and useless. Original review: This app used to be great. I stopped seeing AHN doctors mainly because mychart is awful. I loved the myupmc app. Now it's horrible as well.
The appointments are getting automatically cancelled. it's really frustrating.

Does MyUPMC work for video visits and AnywhereCare?
The app description and positive reviews support virtual care use, including video calls with doctors and AnywhereCare. At the same time, a recent reviewer says the microphone did not work for video visits, so people relying on a virtual appointment should test access before the visit if possible.
LOVE THE OCTOBER UPDATE!! functionality and navigation is MUCH IMPROVED!! I can see a doctor asap. Anytime with Anywhere Care. Thank you UPMC

the microphone doesn't work for video visits. I'm so confused. I'm supposed to get a met b. this is the first I've heard of it. I can't see when my next visit it to my provider. I can't update my pcp in the app. it's still a Dr who left the area 20 years ago.

Can I pay bills or see billing information in MyUPMC?
Billing is listed as a MyUPMC feature, but recent reviews raise concerns after the update. One reviewer says old payment information was gone and they could not tell where a future bill would appear; another says they had to re-enter billing and insurance information during the new setup.
For the most part it's a pretty good update. Almost everything is accessible as it was before. My huge complaint is billing. All of my old payment information is gone. And if I have a future bill to pay I don't know where I could see it. We should have constant access to how our money is/was spent, and it's just not there.
The old app looked more professional. this one's cartoonish. Had to go back and reinstall all of my information. what a pain in the neck. name address telephone number county state country billing information insurance information password username pharmacy. What a dog and pony show. do better UPMC

Does MyUPMC require a verification code every time you log in?
Some reviewers say the updated app asks for a verification code each time they log in, and others report trouble when a code was sent but did not work. One complaint also says only one mobile number can be added to the account, making the verification flow frustrating for that user.
confusing. I like the old app better. now you need a verification code each time you log in. you can use biometrics but i just like using a password but now you need a verification code each time.
sent code but it wouldn't work
The app is very difficult to use. Also, you can only add one mobile number to the account. The two step verification is terrible.

Why is MyUPMC showing a patient photo or avatar, and can I change it?
A highly visible complaint says the new app and website force a large patient photo as an avatar, place it beside messages, and do not provide a way for that user to hide or change it. The review also says email support would not remove it and phone support was not reachable.
The new app and website force a big photo as an avatar that was my identifier photo taken during cancer treatment and is horrible. Every time I look at it I not only hate it but am reminded of one of the worst times in my life. It does not allow you to hide/change it and it also pops up next to everything you write in messages. tech support refuses to remove it through email and no one ever answers the phone. Thanks for making myupmc "better" (exactly the same in most ways and worse in others

Should I use MyUPMC or MyChart for UPMC care?
The Play Store listing describes MyUPMC as the patient portal for care across the UPMC network. Reviews show real confusion after the update because some users mention MyChart or Epic, and at least one reviewer directly asks which app they are supposed to use. The reviews do not provide an official rule for every patient or provider.
Which one am I Supposed To Use this one Or MyChart?????
please just switch to mychart
