Did the recent QuickBooks Workforce update break the Android app?
Recent Android reviews repeatedly say the late August and September updates made QuickBooks Workforce slower, harder to use, or unusable for basic time tracking. Reviewers describe the prior version as working better, then report problems after the redesign such as failed clock-outs, missing history, lost favorites, harder timesheet views, and crashes.
There are a few positive or resolved reports, including users saying a later update fixed their issue, but the recent review set strongly supports caution if your workplace depends on the Android app for daily timekeeping.
why would you roll out this stupid, broken update for android when you rolled it out AND TOOK IT BACK for apple ?? you KNEW this was trash and still decided to update other interfaces with it. fix it. the old one was perfect.
Just opened the new update and it's horrible. This is a time sheet, it's utilitarian. Now in order to view my hours for the day/ week/ etc I have to select them individually making it more difficult to see what's going on. You guys fixed something that wasn't broken, and have more broken something that was fine before. I'm glad you guys don't design hammers 9/2/2026 will not let me log out. keep refreshing the screen and app. have reinstalled it twice. absolutely terrible time keeping app.
Thank you for the update to fix the issues

Can QuickBooks Workforce reliably clock in and clock out?
The biggest practical complaint in recent reviews is that QuickBooks Workforce does not reliably clock users in or out after the update. Reviewers report being unable to clock out, seeing refresh or sync errors, needing a boss or admin to clock them out, or using a browser instead of the app.
Because this app is used for work time, these failures are not minor annoyances: reviewers connect them directly to timesheets, managers having to fix entries, and worries about being paid correctly.
Clocking in and clocking out has completely failed. at first I would get an error saying it could not sync my data and I had to refresh. I would do this and then I could clock in/out. Then I started having to sync manually. Now not even reinstalling the app will let me clock out. AND like most apps these days, the app is just a glorified web browser. I figured out that I can just go to a computer, log in via browser, and after some more shenanigans, clock out.
the app will let you clock in but not clock out you gotta get ahold of your company admin and have them clock you out, 97% of the time an update for the app is done there has to be another one to follow with in a week or 2 to fix something, I personally am waiting for the next update to fix the above problem from the current update, 3 people in my company all have the same issue.
This app is very useful and convenient when it's working! For the last few months, our team had been unable to clock out. Time cards have been difficult to collect from each employee as we rely on this app. Hoping this will be resolved soon!

Does QuickBooks Workforce sync and save hours correctly?
Recent reviewers report serious sync and saving problems. Some say the app shows zero payroll hours, loses entered timecards until the app is reopened, fails to save timesheets, or erases hours after uninstalling and reinstalling. Several reviews frame this as a risk to pay accuracy.
The app description says QuickBooks Workforce can clock in and out without Wi‑Fi or service, but recent reviewers specifically complain that offline or sync behavior became worse after updates.
An entire day of hours were erased after weeks of wildly inconsistent issues. unable to reset the app. payroll hours zerod on the main screen, unable to sync for days. Un-installed & reinstalled the app & now a full day is gone. Messing with people's livelihood just so that the map's bigger & the 'switch jobs' button switches sides is nuts. don't reply with a tinyurl, dont sign your name or say "let's work together to fix this." shouldn't need to interact with you for this to work. fix it.
Update Sept 2026, app still loses sync, enter a timecard and the latest update doesn't show it until you exit and re open the app. the current period counter isnt accurate, and if you use multiple companies one or the other loses the ability to enter timesheets until cache and data is cleared, then you only get back random timesheets, rinse and repeat. changed the way timesheets are entered again...who approves the update from this works to intermittent and call it good
since the update, I can not clock out. it keeps popping up with error. I've tried restarting my phone, uninstalling the app and reinstalling, and i did the sync data that they keep telling several other people do. several people are having the same issue so obviously its an issue on there end. please fix the app so I can have my hours fixed and actually make sure I get paid correctly

Does QuickBooks Workforce track location when you are off the clock?
The app description includes GPS location-based time tracking and geofence reminders. However, recent reviewers raise privacy concerns that the app requests “allow all the time” location access or pings location when they believe they are off the clock.
The reviews do not prove what data QuickBooks Workforce collects in every configuration, but they do show that location permissions are a real concern for some employees, especially when an employer requires the app.
You do not have my permission to allow all the time. Only while using the app. Anything else is a violation of privacy laws. Fix this or be sued. You need to remove the alllow at all times. Workforce was monitoring my location while i had my location on this weekend. this is a violation of every privacy law out there. i am currently talking with legal council about this violation.
Randomly grabs my location when I'm not clocked in. Frequently doesn't allow me clock in, giving an error message.
app will constantly ping location if you dont adjust permissions after every shift. it says it doesnt track location while off the clock but its a lie. the pings show up when you check.

Can you view pay stubs, pay statements, deductions, and tax statements in QuickBooks Workforce?
Yes, the app is meant to show pay stubs, W‑2s, and pay information for businesses using supported QuickBooks Payroll products. Some reviewers say it helps them track deductions, pay, income, and tax statements.
At the same time, recent reviews also include complaints about payroll information being hard to find, pay being late, paycheck-related ads, and support issues. So the pay-info feature exists, but recent experiences are mixed.
Love the app. The payroll system makes it easy to track your deductions and pay. They have always been prompt with pay statements and tax statements at the end of the year.
helps me to keep track and stay on top of my income
garbage looking my payrolls can't find waste time

Why is QuickBooks Workforce showing payday loan or Intuit product ads?
A few recent reviewers complain that QuickBooks Workforce displays promotional content inside a work or paycheck app. The examples in the reviews include payday loan ads, borrowing-from-paycheck notifications, and pushes for other Intuit products.
The reviews do not establish exactly which employers or accounts see these messages, but they do show that some users consider them inappropriate in an app they are required to use for work.
Terrible update. Clocking in and out is so unnecessarily cumbersome now. On top of that, the app is constantly pushing other Intuit products. The app I use for my daily job shouldn't be a space for advertisements.
Hate the fact that I get ads (payday loans) on my paycheck tracking application.
I keep getting emails and notifications saying I can borrow from my check just for to deny me every single time and can't contact support at all because it just says error.

Does QuickBooks Workforce crash, freeze, or run slowly on Android?
Recent Android reviews frequently describe performance problems: slow loading, lag, app crashes, login crashes, and in some cases the phone freezing or restarting when the app opens. Several reviewers say these problems began after recent updates.
There are also isolated positive reviews saying the app is easy to use or that a fix worked, but the recent complaint pattern is strong enough that Android users should be prepared for instability.
everytime I open the app the whole app causes my phone to completely shut off and reset itself all other apps on my phone work fine just not this app... and its needed for work it was working before until recently when I went to go check on my hours - Samsung Galaxy Note 8
app was working fine, now it completely freezes my phone and restarts the phone. absolutely trash.
the app is terribly slow, buggy, and requires me to manually fill out fields everytime i clock in and out now that previously would auto fill because i had certain selected items that were starred for the default. The app runs slower now and is overall more clunky to use. I dont under stand why these companies always seem to be in some competition with eachother for who can take a perfectly functional all and ruin it faster

Can you edit timesheets, breaks, job notes, and job switching in QuickBooks Workforce?
The app description says employees can edit timesheets, switch jobs, take breaks, and add photos or updates in a project feed where available. Recent reviews, however, report that these workflows became harder or broken after the update.
Specific complaints include breaks turning into clock-outs, notes no longer supporting lists or copy/paste, missing “delete and merge” behavior, required manual job switching, and old defaults or favorites no longer being used.
We use this app to track time and record job notes. This recent update is SO bad I don't know what they were thinking pushing it out. I can now no longer "insert" to start a new paragraph in my notes, so they're now just long unbroken paragraphs. They for some reason removed the option to "delete and merge" timecards next to each other. Also everything is just slower and clunkier feeling than it previously was. The previous version was great, 5*, this mew version sucks, 1*.
Worked great prior to the latest update and UI change. Now I'm unable to switch jobs without having to manually clock out and clock in. Class search only provides results for the exact category and not the subcategory. You can no longer type notes as a list you must type in one long continuous sentence. Overall it's less efficient and less convenient than it's previous version.
the latest update ruined the process of adding breaks to the timesheets.

What can you do if QuickBooks Workforce support does not help?
Reviews give mixed reports about support. Some users say phone or chat support was unhelpful or redirected them to an administrator. One positive reviewer describes getting help through the desktop QuickBooks Time account by using the help icon, contact options, and requesting a callback.
- Open the QuickBooks Time account on desktop.
- Use the help icon in the upper-right corner.
- Choose contact options, provide details, and select a callback if available.
- If the issue affects clocking out or submitted hours, reviewers also report involving a company admin or boss to correct time.
do not get this app! avoid if possible! glitches everyday, wont sync hours and when you call the number for support they say call the administrator we cant help..
If you are experiencing trouble with your QuickBooks workforce, this helped me go to help icon in the right upper hand corner of your QuickBooks time account on your desktop then click contact us and provide some details click on let's talk then lastly, select get a call back. They called back in 15 minutes and stayed on the phone with me till they had everything fixed. wonderful service from the person I talked to. I had been having trouble since the last update and am thoroughly satisfied.
Recent updates made it impossible to log in, track time, or view recorded hours. Support is inefficient and directed primarily towards a clunky AI. If my work would let me use another time tracker I would never use this app again.

Why does QuickBooks Workforce keep logging me out or fail to sign in?
Recent reviews describe several sign-in problems: repeated logout loops, passkey sign-in not working, the sign-in button crashing the app, and users being unable to switch companies because of server errors. For employees who are required to use the app, this can block access to time tracking and pay information.
The reviews do not point to a single universal fix. Some users mention uninstalling and reinstalling, clearing cache and data, or using another device or browser, but these are reported workarounds rather than guaranteed solutions.
constantly logging me out and then when i try to log in it just cycles over and over again amd makes you keep trying. Then you have to uninstall and reinstall the app.
passkey signin is broken and the ux is a dumpster fire
Why can't switch company? always and long time refuse to switch and said "An error occurred on our servers, please try again later". please correct the issue, thanks
