MyNISSAN® — FAQ

MyNISSAN® is Nissan’s ownership app for compatible remote controls, vehicle information, service, account tools, offers, and subscriptions. Recent reviews focus less on what the app is supposed to do and more on whether core features actually work: remote start and locks, login, subscriptions, vehicle location, status data, and the redesigned interface.

  1. Does MyNISSAN® remote start and lock work reliably?
  2. Why can’t I log in to MyNISSAN® or enter the verification code?
  3. Is MyNISSAN® worth paying for after the trial?
  4. Does MyNISSAN® show accurate vehicle status like tire pressure, doors, fuel, and mileage?
  5. Does MyNISSAN® vehicle location tracking work?
  6. Did the MyNISSAN® update make the app worse?
  7. Is MyNISSAN® compatible with every Nissan vehicle and trim?
  8. Does MyNISSAN® crash, freeze, or run slowly?
  9. Is MyNISSAN® customer support helpful when the app breaks?

Does MyNISSAN® remote start and lock work reliably?

Reviews are mixed, but many recent complaints say remote start, lock, and unlock commands fail, lag, or show the wrong state. Some owners say the app works well or is convenient, but the strongest recurring concern is reliability: commands spinning, failing, or reporting that a vehicle is started or unlocked when the reviewer says it is not.

The app description also says feature availability can depend on vehicle model, year, trim, subscription status, package options, eligibility, and connectivity. That may explain some missing features, but it does not fully account for reviewers who say a previously working feature stopped working after an update.

pay for the perks and it doesn't work. I just restarted my membership and it won't do the basic of just locking the doors. when I try to start the car it says it is unable to do it and to try to lock the doors, I try that and I am unable to do that. thinking about canceling the membership.

Why can’t I log in to MyNISSAN® or enter the verification code?

Several recent reviewers describe a login loop tied to verification codes. The common pattern is that the app sends a code by email, but when the user switches away to retrieve it, the app returns to the login screen and generates a new code. Reviewers also mention white screens, random sign-outs, password reset problems, and a lack of a stay-signed-in option.

One reviewer reported getting in by having the code sent as a text and writing it down quickly from the notification, but that is a workaround from a user review, not an official fix.

Have no idea if the new version of the app is any good, because it won't let me log in! When I go to log in, it sends me a code. Then, when I retrieve the code and go back, the pop up where I need to put my code in is gone and it wants me to log in again, sending me a new code. I've force stopped the app and cleared the cache, but no dice. Edit: finally got in by having the code sent as a text, then quickly writing it down from the text notification while the "enter code" screen is still up.

Keep logging out and doesn't stay on log in page. If I could rate this negative star, I would. First, all other app, when log in doesn't take you to the website to log in. Why create an app and make you go to the website? then when you type in your username and password, it going to send the passcode to your email. While you go to your email app to check, it go back to the log in page so you cannot enter the code. Then you doing it again and it is an endless cycle like Groundhog day.
★☆☆☆☆MyNISSAN® · 2026-09-18 · 0 found this helpful
was great, but now it's impossible to sign in, it randomly logs you out, then requires you to copy a code in your email. problem is the second you move away from this apps built in browser, it will close and start over, so the code you get will be wrong and it'll ask for a new one.

Is MyNISSAN® worth paying for after the trial?

The reviews raise a serious value concern for paid features. Reviewers complain about paying for perks, subscriptions, premium packages, or memberships while remote start, locks, location, boundary alerts, valet mode, and other features do not work for them. Others object that features are locked behind a paywall or compare the app unfavorably with competing automaker apps they say include similar access for free.

Based on these reviews, a prospective user should not assume that paying will make the app reliable. Compatibility, subscription status, and vehicle package matter, but reviewers with paid or premium access still report failures.

How does this app have 4.7 stars when all I see are 1 star reviews? Suspicious... The app is very glitchy. I echo the previous reviews. Looking at the other reviews, the developers are only responding telling everyone to contact customer service but not actually fixing all of the app's many problems. My app features are on a free trial right now. I can't imagine paying for this when the trial is over.

Why am I paying for a service that doesn't even work half the time?! App was updated and now it won't even let me login. Updates seem to make things worse not better!!! Fix it Nissan!
★☆☆☆☆MyNISSAN® · 2026-09-22 · 1 found this helpful
since the update the app has been unstable, I pay for features that I cannot use! such has boundary and valet mode! keeps telling me something went wrong!

Does MyNISSAN® show accurate vehicle status like tire pressure, doors, fuel, and mileage?

Recent reviews show a pattern of complaints about stale or incorrect vehicle status. Reviewers mention tire pressure not updating, door status being wrong, mileage and fuel readings differing from the vehicle, charging range not changing, and app data being outdated.

There are positive reviews saying the app helps check vehicle status or notifies about maintenance, but a prospective user who mainly wants accurate live vehicle data should be aware that reviewers report delays and incorrect readings.

App no longer works after getting warning about low air in a tire. I filled it, took the car to a shop that found a nail. They repaired the tire and despite driving several hundred miles since, it's still not updating. Now it's also telling me all of the doors are open. Very strange. Not sure if they're having issues.

I just installed the new MyNissan app. I like the new structor but I still don't get the tire pressure readings. Everything else works. And no, I'm not contacting app support. They need to monitor these reviews. Everytime I've contacted them nothing gets done. My tire pressure never shows up on the app for my previous 2023 and current 2024 Rogue. My 2021 Mustang shows TPMS even when the car is in the garage. Come on guys why can't this be fixed.

Keeps kicking me out.Now fuel and mileage readings are diff. on phone and truck!

Does MyNISSAN® vehicle location tracking work?

Location tracking is another frequent pain point in the reviews. Some users say the app rarely updates the vehicle’s location, gets stuck on an old location, cannot locate a vehicle, or became less accurate after the update. One reviewer specifically says it is not suitable if location is the main reason for installing the app.

A few reviews mention mapping or trip features working, but the negative reviews are strong enough that users who need dependable vehicle tracking should be cautious.

not very good I've got it mainly so if one of my kids are out in the vehicle I can track the location of it but unfortunately about 80% of the time it does not work man takes a long time for it to refresh to where you can even start to try it again so if getting for the location part of it don't because it's not worth the money at all you can easily get something else if the location of the vehicle is all you're needing alot cheaper and with this you cannot watch the vehicle go down the road
★★☆☆☆MyNISSAN® · 2026-08-25 · 0 found this helpful
locate my vehicle is terrible. it's been stuck on my last location for weeks.
★★★☆☆MyNISSAN® · 2026-08-29 · 0 found this helpful
it's decent, the only problem is have is when I try to locate my daughters vehicle through the app it says, " can't locate vehicle ". that's ridiculous, my daughter lives two states away and incase of an emergency I'd never get to locate her vehicle.

Did the MyNISSAN® update make the app worse?

Many recent reviewers blame the new update or redesign for worse performance, a cluttered interface, slower commands, missing or hidden vehicle information, login problems, and features that used to work becoming unreliable. Some users like parts of the new structure or say the app looks more polished, but the dominant review theme around the update is frustration.

Complaints are not just about visual taste. Reviewers connect the redesign to practical issues such as harder-to-find lock status, longer command times, freezing, and inaccurate location.

The update on this app is terrible. Once you can finally get logged in it just freezes constantly, the car location is not accurate, it constantly says "something is wrong", the design is all over the place and looks chaotic. Never should have changed it and I can't imagine I will keep paying a subscription for this awful update.

I used to enjoy this app. it was very helpful. but this new update sucks!!!! Why in the world is Nissan hiding my vehicle information behind widgets trying to sell me something. I bought the car already, is that not enough? seriously they need to get back to focusing on the customer.
★★☆☆☆MyNISSAN® · 2026-09-23 · 0 found this helpful
new update is trash. not very user friendly and doesn't show current status of vehicle if it's locked or what not. main page is way to busy. need to go back to a simple homepage with the basics. app works 50% of the time.

Is MyNISSAN® compatible with every Nissan vehicle and trim?

No. The app description says features vary by model, model year, trim, subscription status, package options, eligibility, market, compatible vehicle, supported phone, and connectivity. Reviews reflect that limitation: some users say they found out a vehicle was not equipped for the feature they wanted, while others say non-premium vehicles have limited features.

Before relying on a feature like virtual key, remote controls, location, or status data, a prospective user should check whether that specific Nissan vehicle and package are eligible. The reviews suggest that simply owning a Nissan does not guarantee the app feature you want will be available.

I hear ya'll comments and I agree some and most have connected i can't because I have at&t service and if I tryed on my nissan app it takes me back and forth I want these features I want to play as I pay 😤 but I can't nothing want let me in PLEASE NISSAN FIX THE BUGS WE NEED ACCESS THANK YOU I did call and got all the information and unfortunately my kicks is nothing virtual key equipped thanks 😊

unless you have a premium edition vehicle the features in this app are extremely limited. app is very slow to load or connect to the vehicle. developer customer service never reply, no way to force tire pressure status so information that appears in this app is outdated

does not with with my car, only told this after being forced to sign in with way too much information

Does MyNISSAN® crash, freeze, or run slowly?

Yes, reviewers describe slow loading, freezing, crashing on open, long command times, latency, and the app getting stuck on spinners or white screens. Some positive reviews say the app works smoothly or flawlessly, but recent critical reviews repeatedly describe stability and performance problems.

Several reviewers say clearing cache, force stopping, uninstalling, or reinstalling did not solve the issue for them, so these problems may not always be simple device-side glitches.

Crashes on open 100% of the time. No amount of cache clearing or reinstalling resolves it. been this way for over a year. Every response is to have us call customer support. No thanks. give me a reporting form or a way to email. I'm not wasting an hour or more of my time on a call because of your buggy app.

New update...why nissan. This new design for the app is soooo slow.
★☆☆☆☆MyNISSAN® · 2026-09-22 · 0 found this helpful
Historically, when I tried to use it, it was completely worthless. It barely ever worked and was so clunky. The app always felt like it existed not to offer any value but just so they can say they offer an app. I decided to see if they improved it at all. This app crashes every time it opens now.

Is MyNISSAN® customer support helpful when the app breaks?

The reviews are divided. Some users say support or customer service was excellent or treated them well, but many app-specific complaints say contacting Nissan, the dealer, or support did not resolve connection, login, or feature problems. A recurring complaint is that developer replies tell users to contact customer service rather than fixing the app issues reviewers see as widespread.

So support may be courteous, but the reviews do not show consistent success at resolving the app’s technical problems.

Since the new "update" I can't get it to open. I will say the customer service was EXCELLENT when I called for help. They weren't able to resolve my issue. but THEY were excellent..understanding abd very polite and patient!!! the app gets a 1 ..but customer service reps get a 10

The app is very glitchy. Not all features work in it as intended & the ones that do, half do the job. This is my 3rd vehicle using the app! 6 years total. This time around my remote start does come on 90% of the time but I cannot control my temp, it no longer updates my mileage or that the remote start is connected. The app just keeps spinning & I have to clear my cache each time for an update.
