Is Simply Piano free, or do you have to pay?
Simply Piano is free to download, and the store description says free users get selected songs and video lessons. But the reviews strongly suggest that the free experience is limited: users say they can start, learn some basics, or finish an early lesson, then hit a Premium subscription prompt to continue courses or play songs.
you have to pay for everything dont install
you get basically nothing for free. flowkey has more free content if you dont want to pay.
Terrible. They make you pay right when you finish your First piano Lesson What a paying App, Worth for nothing what's the point

Is Simply Piano a scam or misleading about subscriptions?
The reviews raise real trust concerns around subscriptions and trials. The store description says full access requires Premium and that recurring subscriptions auto-renew unless auto-renewal is turned off before the end of the current period. Reviewers, however, describe surprise annual charges, trial-charge disputes, difficulty canceling, and unanswered support emails. That does not prove every user will have the same experience, but it is a serious risk to consider before entering payment details.
SHADY! They force you to sign up for the annual subscription to get the free trial. Then, they force you to the family plan to unlock all features. Finally - without warning - charge you $209 for the annual plan. No reminder email or notification in the app that your trial is up. I should have manually tracked it better but expected a reminder or confirmation. Make money by building a good app - not relying on deceptive business practices.
* edit. Subscription Issues - I dropped it down to 1 star as I have emailed 3 times with no response. HARD APP to cancel. Couldn't cancel in the app, it does not show up under payments and subscriptions on google play and I tried googling it and it just said to do it through the app store, but it isn't there.I figured I must have already canceled. It charged me for a full year. I am waiting to hear back. I
When we subscribed the app, it clearly stated that we would receive a 14-day free trial before any payment would be charged. However, we were charged after only one week, before the trial period had ended and before we had the opportunity to cancel our subscription. We have tried to reach the customer service by email, but we haven't received any reply. Do not give this app your credit card information. It is not trastable.

Is Simply Piano good for beginners?
For early learning, the reviews are often positive. Users praise the basic note lessons, step-by-step structure, videos, sheet-music reading, and beginner pacing. The main caution is that several users who liked the beginner instruction still ran into the subscription wall when trying to continue.
I learned the first five notes very fast.
Really good for beginners for it has videos to explain before you do the course. Really fun also because you can play any Song you like without having to download. Try it now......
a very cool app for absolute beginners a teaches how to play sheet music and even teaches the notes

Does Simply Piano accurately hear the notes you play?
Note detection is mixed in the reviews. Some users say the app misses notes, marks correct keys as wrong, responds slowly, or goes out of sync on faster pieces. A positive paid-user review says it was accurate even with soft key presses, so performance may depend on setup, device, instrument, or lesson complexity.
Was alright in the beginning. But as pieces get faster and more complex, the fact that the app doesn't have any sort of note length detection and doesn't accommodate them, makes them quickly go completely out of sync and unplayable. It's also focusing almost exclusively on 5 finger positioning, while only briefly mentioning or completely ignoring other issues and important practices. Most songs are covers, misleadingly attributed as the originals with no mention of the cover artist anywhere.
this was a really good app, some problems. It wouldn't catch my notes when I played them on time, and they were slow to catch my notes. Otherwise, pretty good app
This is a perfect way to learn piano! Very enjoyable. It is worth every dollar! Money well spent. I like that it comes out each month instead of a yearly lump fee. I find it is quite accurate at knowing the keys I play on my piano even when I press sometimes a little too soft. I also like that you can slow the speed of the main songs while you're practicing. I have learnt so much in 2 months! As you learn there are sooo many song they give you to practice. Well done developers!!

Can you use Simply Piano without a real piano or keyboard?
The app listing says Simply Piano works with a piano or keyboard, and it also mentions Touch Courses for users without a piano. The reviews are less reassuring for mobile-only use: users complain about needing a real piano, not being able to use the shown keyboard, missing an on-screen piano, and not being able to do it on mobile. If you want a full app-only piano experience, the reviews suggest checking this carefully before subscribing.
we are not able to use the keyboard shown in the simply piano learning app
WHY CANT I DO IT 0N MOBILE
they should make it so you don't need a real piano, if that was the case, I'd give it five stars

Can you play songs in Simply Piano without Premium?
Song access is a major complaint in the reviews. The app description says full access to all songs and courses requires Premium. Reviewers say they liked the songs or wanted specific songs, but free users report being blocked from playing chosen songs or continuing after a lesson unless they subscribe.
it's good but didn't let me play sunroof
can not do any other song without going premium
The app is great but it's just that after you finish the course you can't even play the song you picked because you need premium.honestly it would be great if there were a few songs we could play without having to buy premium.

Is Simply Piano worth paying for?
It depends on whether you accept the subscription model. Some reviewers say the paid app is enjoyable, accurate, and worth the money. Others say the price is too high, especially because courses and songs are locked behind Premium. If you expected a mostly free learning app, the reviews are clearly negative; if you plan to pay and use it regularly, there are also positive paid-user experiences.

I don't like it because i press a note and it ignores me and doesn't register it. also the payment is way to expensive
This is a scammy app, your first lesson is completely free however the minute you want to actually play the song you worked to train for you find out you cannot progress without a family plan. I am absolutely dissapointed since this is one of the only piano learning apps I've found on android. Also it costs wayy too much just to learn piano for a month. This is awful. The app itself was amazing but you cant even do 50% of the stuff they advertised without paying a fortune. No thanks!

Does Simply Piano have good practice controls like practice mode, speed control, or larger sheet music?
Reviews point to some frustration with practice and display controls. Users complain that practice mode was removed, ask for speed control, and want larger sheet music or more visual customization. A positive review says main songs can be slowed while practicing, so available controls may depend on where you are in the app.
they took away the practice mode... now you have to fail on purpose to practice any song. great. so frustrating. your developers should really work on this. never buying this again
shoud have speed control
good so far. edit: wish there was a way to make the music sheet larger while it is playing bigger on my tablet. There seems to be no customization for size or color (easier for me to see white text like the number 1 or 3 in white instead of black). It's harder for me to see, so maybe they will add it in the future??

Does Simply Piano have ads?
The store description says Simply Piano is kids safe with no ads or external links. Some reviews still complain about ads or sponsored content. The reviews do not make clear whether users mean third-party ads, subscription prompts, or promotional material, so this is an area where the listing and user comments conflict.
ADS FULL OF ADS AND PAID SUBSCRIPTIONS AND NO ONE WANTS A PIANO FOR CHRISTMAS
absolute worst app if you just want to find a note quickly on a piano. 1 billion features, 1 trillion ads.
so bad add only no piano sponsored
