Did the latest Fidelity Investments update make the positions and portfolio view worse?

Yes, for many reviewers who mention the recent update, the main complaint is the redesigned Positions, Portfolio, or Details view. Reviewers say it shows less information, is harder to read, adds spacing or logos they do not want, and makes serious portfolio review harder on a phone. Even a reviewer who liked the new app overall still asked Fidelity to add a compact mode for Details.

Ruined the "Details" view mode now, which is essential for serious users. HUGE SPACING instead of standard separator lines means I can only view 3 columns at once instead of 6+, and far fewer rows, despite the switch to a smaller font. Details was the last thing with a functionality-focused design, but now it's been hijacked by the same janky modern style trends as the rest! Some users care more about analyzing the numbers than pretty looks. I know, crazy concept for a financial app.

This latest update is complete garbage. I cannot stand trying to see my positions now and the way the symbol stays in screen as you swipe it.
★☆☆☆☆Fidelity Investments · 2026-09-09 · 25 found this helpful
Update: New app is slick, I like all the new additions and features. Also nice to see it embracing color from the previous hard to see monochrome. One current issue is that the positions in details mode is not as compact as the previous version. So less info shows on the screen - this is not a good thing. please implement a compact mode for details.

Does Fidelity Investments save My View, custom columns, and sort settings?

Not reliably, according to recent reviews. A repeated complaint is that My View, column order, filters, account selection, and sort preferences reset after reopening the app or logging back in. This matters most for users who rely on a customized portfolio screen rather than the default layout.

I'm not keen on the layer of floating details, especially the logos which are just cutesy. I have disabled the Trader version as I'm not a trader. Instead, I enjoy the classic look which provides everything I need. Here's the problem; I turned off the logos, set the sorting on $total per day, and lastly selected the 1 account I want to review. That's the way I like it, unfortunately the app DOES NOT REMEMBER my settings?

This app continues to be bad. A recent update... when you are looking at positions you can configure the columns you want to see and the order in which they are displayed. Problem is when you open the app next time the columns go back to the default. Everytime they fix one thing they break two other things. This app along with their trader+ desktop app have me looking at other brokers. Schwab seems to have the best software tools.

Doesn't save my custom columns. Every time I log in I have to reorder the columns. I've given up creating my own personalized view because it takes to long to set up, and I have to do it every day. My custom view worked for years until this new, ugly update

Is Fidelity Investments crashing, showing white screens, or signing users out?

Some reviewers describe the app as broken after the update, with white screens, pages that do not load, crashes, and automatic sign-outs. The most concerning reports are from users who say they can use Fidelity on a computer but cannot complete the same tasks in the mobile app.

Well... Recently, "Fidelity 'updated' their app." Now it doesn't work. I have been unable to use the app for several days. I have no trouble using my computer. After reading other reviews, I believe Fidelity has really dropped the ball on this one. Yes, my phone is up to date and I have reinstalled the app. Get it together Fidelity. update: app still doesn't work like it is supposed to. If I try to open a link to one of the calculators or my port, all I get is a white screen. Messed up app.

I want to like the app. I used to like it. now half the pages just say unable to load content. if I click on something I want to do it just signs me out and If I sign back in to try again it signs me out again. pretty annoying if you ask me. I'm trusting you with my money and the app is broken.
★☆☆☆☆Fidelity Investments · 2026-08-22 · 1 found this helpful
The App use to be really great. Now all it does is crash. Anytime I try to pull up a stock to view or trade boom it instantly logs out. Essentially I can no longer actively trade with the Fidelity app. I can. Look at my portfolio and trade my portfolio but can't trade anything else. So you get one star for a broken app. Fix the issue and I'll review my rating.

Does Fidelity Investments have login, two-factor, or biometric sign-in problems?

Recent reviews raise several login frustrations: repeated two-factor prompts despite selecting remember me, long splash-screen delays, missing biometric options on a Samsung device after an update, and being sent back to the login menu after entering the password. The app description says Fidelity offers two-factor authentication, but the reviews show that the experience can be inconvenient for some Android users.

I don't know why it takes longer to open any security page on this app than it takes to do anything else on my phone. Even if I have good Wi-Fi or mobile reception. I have also had to do two-factor authentication, clicking the remember me box every time, at least twice a week for over a year. Using Fidelity on my home computer is great, but I will probably switch my brokerage account to Robinhood simply because the mobile experience is so so so terrible.

just keeps getting worse. seriously why do I have to wait for a code to log in almost every time! very annoying. and the new format is more difficult to look at. I don't even use my fidelity credit card so I don't have to log in as much. disappointing. takes too long just to get into the credit card. whole experience is glitchy.

Its good, but why do I have to login correctly twice everytime? Like, I successfully type in my password, THEN IT SENDS ME BACK TO THE LOGIN MENU AFTER PLAYING THE WELCOME ANIMATION. WHY????

Are Fidelity Investments bank linking, withdrawals, and mobile deposits reliable in the app?

The app description says Fidelity supports transfers, check deposits, and bill pay, but the reviews include specific failures around adding a bank, seeing linked accounts, making withdrawals, and using mobile deposit on Android. These reviews do not prove every transfer feature is broken, but they are a warning if those tasks are the reason you plan to install the app.

Can't add bank, or see my linked accounts. "We're sorry, there was a temporary system error. Please try again later." It's been over a week. Went to their customer service line where it made me manually type in my complicated password with numbers and symbols, using my phone's keypad, only for it to say, "Sorry, you're calling outside of our normal business hours. Goodbye." I'm going to look into more customer-oriented companies for my investing and 401k.

Does Fidelity Investments show accurate and complete account data?

Several reviewers report missing or incorrect investment data, including blank daily gains, wrong CD details, incorrect purchase prices, option pricing issues, and DRIP cost basis shown as zero. That is especially important for users who depend on the app for trading decisions, tax-lot review, or account monitoring.

For DRIP purchases in an IRA, this app AND their website shows the cost basis as $0. They are unable or unwilling to enable "Actual Cost" reporting, I spent 40 minutes on the phone with their front-end, middle-muddle and back-end teams, to no avail. They wouldn't take my request to log this as a feature request, I have to email them. Schwab rocks! Zero stars would be the right rating for the Fiddlers.
★☆☆☆☆Fidelity Investments · 2026-08-19 · 2 found this helpful
When selecting a specific position from the "positions" tab, the wrong CD details come up when selecting one from the list. I've tried restarting my phone, clearing cache and data, and uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and nothing fixes this problem. App worked fine until this most recent update. Called Fidelity and while friendly, no help or solutions.

latest couple builds have created a ton of bugs. app is reporting a stock purchase at the wrong price, none of the portfolio overview functions are working correctly. options not being priced correctly. several other bugs

Is Fidelity Investments easy to use, or did the new UI make it harder?

The reviews lean negative on ease of use after the redesign. Reviewers describe the app as unintuitive, cluttered, harder to navigate, and requiring more taps than before. A recurring request is for Fidelity to bring back a classic or previous view. There are still reviewers who say the underlying brokerage and core functions are good, but the current mobile interface is a common pain point.

Every update makes the UI worse. Why? Why do you keep changing the UI for no apparent reason? It used to be fine, simple but well laid out and easy to use which is exactly what I want out of a mobile app. Now it's cluttered, runs poorly, and my view settings don't stick. This saying exists for a reason: "If it ain't broke don't fix it."
★★☆☆☆Fidelity Investments · 2026-08-26 · 2 found this helpful
Five years ago this app was great. It was intuitive and the information formats were such that you could easily observe data and trends. Tasks were easy to find and execute. Over the past 3 years they have constantly made revisions to the point where it is almost unusable. No more can you see the details of your portfolio at a glance, no more is the app intuitive so as to see specific data that you desire or execute tasks. Clearly they do not talk to customers about changes. Go to Vanguard.
★☆☆☆☆Fidelity Investments · 2026-08-28 · 5 found this helpful
Overall, the app and team are doing a good job. I do not like that every couple of months the layout changes in the mobile app and it doesn't remember what I had before so I need to go in and reset up my preferred layout.

Do I still need the Fidelity website or a computer if I install Fidelity Investments?

Based on the reviews, some users still fall back to Fidelity on the web or a computer for tasks the app handles poorly or not at all. Examples mentioned include trading after mobile crashes, managing alerts, viewing account pages that will not load, and using a browser because the app display is wrong.

Fix your APP! my phone is only a year old. your update doesn't display correctly. out of alignment. missing data. have a classic view option. I have to hire in a Browser window now!

My updated review. LOUSY since they updated the app this month. it's unappealing, hard to navigate, and once you finally get it set up like you want, it doesn't save the settings. Mobile is basically unusable now. Have to trade on the PC. Get better Fidelity
★☆☆☆☆Fidelity Investments · 2026-08-28 · 2 found this helpful
Lets me manage my portfolio, prepare for retirement, find new investments, etc. Minus 1 star since retirement accounts can't be viewed as a sub-group. Minus a 2nd star for no price alert notification settings. Must use the website to individually update each alert. Also now the expired alerts list often jumps to the active list. And is now ordered by alert creation vs expiration. NEW: Minus a 3rd star for broken My View. UPDATE: My View is fixed.

Does Fidelity Investments work well on Android phones like Samsung, Pixel, or foldable devices?

The reviews include device-specific Android complaints. Reviewers mention Samsung font and biometric issues, Pixel and Android mobile-deposit crashes, foldable-display problems, and compatibility warnings. This does not mean every Android device is affected, but it suggests Android users should test the exact tasks they need before relying on the app.

all the font size are messed in Samsung phone. Before the update is fine.

Does Fidelity Investments drain battery or keep running in the background?

One reviewer specifically reports that after the latest update, their Galaxy phone warned that Fidelity was running in the background and using significant battery life. The review does not show whether this affects all users, but battery-sensitive users may want to watch Android battery warnings after installing.

Never had issues until the latest update. Now my phone (Galaxy S26Ultra) is constantly giving me warnings that the Fidelity app is running in the background and using significant battery life. Guess I'm going to disable the app until I need to use it and then disable it again once I'm done. Come on Fidelity, you can do better than this, you certainly have the resources to test your updates to the app before publishing them. Never had any issues until this latest update.

Is Fidelity Investments customer support helpful when the app has problems?

The reviews are mixed. Some users praise Fidelity customer support as patient or top-tier, while others say support was friendly but unable to solve app bugs, or told them to wait for a later update. For app-specific bugs, the reviews suggest support may not be able to provide an immediate fix.

After using Fidelity for over a year, which is a great app. very fast, lots of features, and Fidelity Customer Support is top tier. I feel obligated to review how horrible the app has become. If you want to customize your "My View" get use to having it reset to default (blank) several times a day, same with your watch list columns. The app is completely broken, for the first time, I'm looking at Robinhood.

Originally 2 stars for navigation issues until I realized the green dollar sign in the center is a button and everything I was looking for is in there. Doh! I would have found it easier if it looked the same as the other buttons. Still loses 1 star for not having the available date for funds visible to account holders. I had no idea why my money was unavailable to transfer and had to call. Customer service was patient and helpful. Also, the username/password limitations are super annoying.
★★★★☆Fidelity Investments · 2026-08-27 · 5 found this helpful
The latest update is full of bugs. No longer usable. Support says wait for an update with no date for fixes. I don't think Fidelity really understands that time to fix is critical to customer satisfaction. And just the same pat answer on the review. How can these fixes take weeks.
