Is Burner: Second Phone Number free, or do you have to pay?
Based on the app description and recent reviews, Burner: Second Phone Number is free to download but not generally free to use. The Play listing says burners are free for a trial period only and tells users to review pricing before purchasing. Reviewers repeatedly describe hitting a subscription or payment screen before they could use a number.
Once again, another application you have to pay a monthly fee.. Not free!!!
Pay wall comes up soon after opening. You have to have a card on file. Google Voice, Textnow or text free don't do this if anyone needs a fast number.
Tried to make me sign up to do anything so its only free to download.

Does Burner: Second Phone Number charge during the free trial?
Many recent reviewers say they expected a free trial but were charged right away or sooner than they expected. A few describe successful or quick refunds, but the overall pattern in these reviews is that prospective users should treat the trial and billing terms with caution before entering payment details.
Went for 3 day trial. they Charged my card the next morning, no customer service to talk to, Google did nothing when I wrote them through the Google app. This forced me to pay for a month at 14.99.and write this review everywhere on principal, scandalous lies, theft of money. I feel like they stole money from my wallet, I will not continue working with a company with no integrity. my only recourse is to write this review everywhere I can.
I was just testing the app. It claimed it was signing me up for a 3 day trial, then I'd be charged at the end of the trail period for the full term. Pretty standard, right? Well guess what? It immediately charged me. No trial. I almost didn't even realize until I checked my bank account. Not even after the 3 days. IMMEDIATELY. I better get a damn refund for this scummy app. Edit: They at least refunded me quickly and easily. The app itself is good, but be wary of the "free trial".
I tried to sign up for a free trial but it instantly charged my card instead. I will be disputing this with my bank

Is Burner: Second Phone Number a scam?
The reviews contain serious trust complaints. Reviewers use words like scam, rip off, theft, and deceptive mainly in connection with billing, trial charges, refunds, cancellation, and support. There are also positive reviews saying the app works well, so the fair takeaway is not that every user has the same experience, but that recent complaints raise clear risk signals around payment and account handling.
signed up for a free 3 day trial of the app. they INSTANTLY charged my account and put an attempted overdraft on my card. i got charged a fee by my bank and my card had to be replaced and file a claim. total rip off scam. do not use them.
BEWARE . . . Biggest issue is double billing and poor customer service. App is glitchy most of the time. Customer service will lie and make excuses. Very dishonest company that will sneak in extra charges and lie saying you did something wrong or purchased additional subscription. Can only use one why would I need more than one? Liars and thieves with this app.
u need an active phone number to get a "free" one from this app. DO NOT DOWNLOAD, WASTE OF TIME. DOES NOT DO WHAT IT PROMISES FOR FREE UNLESS YOU PAY. THIS IS A SCAM.

Does Burner: Second Phone Number work for calls and texts?
Reviews are mixed. Some users say Burner does its job, works well, or has good call quality. Others report missed notifications, failed calls, messages not reaching people, random outgoing calls, and screens that block use. If reliable call and text delivery is essential, the recent reviews suggest testing carefully before relying on it.
We'll have to see if it works as well after the 3 day trial. Call qualify was good - will let everyone know.
the app has a lot of bugs. the notification don't come through, even after changing phone settings and app settings. I frequently miss texts and phone calls. I also was over charged for my first month. It's okay for the price, but not great
The messages wasn't going to the person's I had messaged.

Can Burner: Second Phone Number receive verification codes or work with Tinder?
Do not assume Burner will work for verification codes. The app description itself says it may not work with SMS shortcode services, and recent reviews specifically complain that verification codes were blocked, unavailable on a trial, or did not work for Tinder.
Started the free trial after sign up and first message was a verification code. Wouldn't let me see it until I signed up for a seperate premium service. So multiple subscriptions to use this service. Deleted just as fast as I downloaded. Obviously cancelled the trial as well. Another scummy service.
If you're gonna use this for tinder, it doesn't work
cool idea for an app. you can't use it for verification codes, which is the point of keeping my phone number private. L

Do Burner: Second Phone Number calls show as anonymous or spam?
One detailed recent review says outgoing calls played a mechanical prompt asking the recipient whether to accept an anonymous call, which made calls look like spam and reduced answer rates. The reviews provided do not show a user-confirmed setting that fixes this behavior.
When you call someone, the recipient gets a mechanical voice asking if they want to receive an anonymous call. It sounds like spam, so people don't answer. And there's no way to change settings so your calls go straight through. Be aware of this before you subscribe.

Is it hard to cancel Burner: Second Phone Number or stop charges?
Several reviewers say cancellation was difficult or that charges continued after canceling, uninstalling, or unsubscribing. One reviewer also says they canceled a trial and still got charged. Uninstalling alone is not described as a reliable way to stop billing in these reviews.
Nearly impossible to cancel subscription without sending an email
do not charge when it's been uninstalled. I uninstalled this awhile ago but it still charged me $14.99. PLUS when I did try to use, could not make any calls, hence the reason I did not keep. but you could ask if I wanna continue seevice. how do I unsubscribe since it's already uninstalled?
I canceled the subscription but you keep trying to take money, stop!...2 weeks later and you still try to take money from me. STOP!

Does Burner: Second Phone Number require your real phone number or 2FA?
Some reviewers object that Burner requires an existing phone number, payment details, or two-factor verification before use. That matters if your reason for installing is to avoid sharing your primary number at all, because these reviews say the signup process still asks for a real number or verification.
what's the point of it being a burner if it has 2FA required the whole point of a burner is to not have 2FA. The reason we should not be required to give to a is for the companies to prove their trustworthiness and not selling our info to data brokers.
In order to use this app you have to already have a phone number. What is the point?

Can Burner: Second Phone Number terminate your number or account without warning?
A few reviewers report losing access to a number, account, contacts, or messages after termination or cancellation. These are serious complaints for anyone planning to use a Burner line for business, recovery codes, or long-term contacts, because a second number is only useful if you can keep access to it when needed.
I've been a Burner user for over eight years. My DJ line was terminated without warning. I lost all my business contacts and messages. Support refused to explain. That's unacceptable. I want a public explanation and a path to recover my number. They kept all of my messages, pictures, and audio.
Took my monthly payment then closed my account a couple days later.
I've never used this app and as soon as I made an account it said the account was terminated for a violation

Does Burner: Second Phone Number VPN work?
Reviews about the VPN are limited and conflicting. One reviewer says the VPN worked fine but they did not trust the billing during the trial. Another says the app claimed VPN use while they believed it was still on their normal connection. The review sample does not provide enough detail to verify VPN performance.
Subscribed to try the VPN with a free 3 day trial. Canceled the next day but still had my card charged $15. The VPN worked fine but would not trust this developer not to charge again during a trial period
say I'm on a VPN but directly from my normal 5g connection no VPN at all just stealing my email and phone number to resell it. stay away.
