StoryReel: Exclusive Drama — FAQ

Is StoryReel legit?

StoryReel is a real short-drama app and some reviewers enjoy the content and report fast support. However, recent reviews are dominated by billing complaints: a cheap trial that rolls into an expensive weekly subscription, a subscription that doesn't appear in Google Play, a support email address that bounces, and charges that continue after cancellation. On the paid side the reviews raise serious doubts; the free tier mainly costs you time in ads.

scam, there is no link to stop subscription! I tried to email the company, but the email does not work, I have no way to end this subscription, this is a big scam. I've used other apps like this and there was never a problem to end the auto-pay, but here there is. BIG SCAM

Is StoryReel a scam?

Many reviewers call it a scam. The consistent account: you take a $1.99 24-hour pass to watch one story, try to cancel immediately, find no subscription listed in Google Play and no working cancel button, and are then charged roughly $15 to $30 a week. Emails to the support address reportedly bounce back as undeliverable. Some reviewers report the price climbing over successive charges. Several had to dispute charges or freeze their card. The content isn't fake, but the subscription mechanics are what reviewers describe as predatory.

*SCAM*! I did the 24 hour trial, tried to cancel immediately, but there was no option to do so through Google Play (which I paid with and the app said was the way to cancel). So I e-mailed through the app immediately to ask for a cancellation, this morning the app asked if I wanted to renew and I pressed NO, yet this afternoon they have taken £14.89!! I e-mailed through the app again, just to receive an automated email saying "delivery failed permanently" 😡 Reporting to bank and Google Play.

How do I cancel a StoryReel subscription?

The app says to cancel in Google Play, but reviewers consistently report the subscription isn't listed there. Reviewers who cancelled successfully describe going to Settings inside the app, then to account or "manage subscription," where a cancel option sits near the top — it's deliberately not on the obvious subscription-info screen. The support email reportedly bounces, so if the in-app option isn't visible, reviewers say the remaining options are a bank dispute or freezing the card.

not 100% free as advertised. after watching 3 days of ads in between each scene it still made me subscribe just to watch 3 more episodes. such a scam... also if anyone sees this and is having a problem canceling their subscription, you need to go to "settings" in the app and "manage subscription". they made it harder to find then just clicking the subscription info and they don't respond to emails. I hope this helps someone.

Why are the dramas StoryReel advertises not in the app?

A very common complaint. Reviewers say they clicked a Facebook or Instagram ad for a specific story — often a werewolf or "fox mate / serpent kings" title — installed the app, and could not find that story anywhere, even searching the exact name. Some report the ad link works only before the app is installed and the story vanishes once they sign in. Reviewers suspect these titles are borrowed from other apps for advertising and were never in StoryReel's catalog.

Advertised dramas don't exist on their app. See interesting ones on Facebook all the time. Click the link it doesn't go to the drama. Search the same name in the app and you get every drama but that one. I paid for absolutely nothing. So, don't waste your time. I'm guessing their dramas from other apps for advertising but don't exist.

Is StoryReel free?

StoryReel is free to install and offers some episodes via daily coins or by watching ads, but reviewers say the "watch free" and "unlimited episodes" claims in its ads are misleading. In practice you get a limited number of ad-unlocks per day, each short clip costs coins, and finishing a series requires a subscription. Reviewers report spending more time watching ads than dramas.

lied nothing is free don't be fooled worst shorts app ever they don't give any free episodes ,their bonus hairless soo many adds tasks and wirst of all some task even done you don't get the reward it would have been negative stars for me if it was possible to rate it soo

Are StoryReel's dramas complete?

Frequently not. Reviewers report that most series stop partway — a show listed with 40 episodes ends at 20, with "new episode coming soon" that never updates. Reviewers who subscribed specifically to finish a story often say the ending never became available. The AI-generated dramas draw extra criticism for continuity errors.

Almost no short drama has been finished! I don't believe i have seen a single drama to the end because there were no more episodes. It's extremely annoying to watch something, and then not be able to finish it! Extremely disappointed

Why does StoryReel keep charging me after I cancelled?

Reviewers repeatedly report being charged for weeks after cancelling, sometimes at an increasing price, and that cancelling via the bank didn't immediately stop it. Because the subscription usually isn't visible in Google Play and the support email bounces, reviewers say there's no straightforward way to confirm a cancellation, and several resorted to card replacement or a formal dispute.

They tried to charge me for cancelled subscription twice. I wrote them 3 emails and no answer yet. Do NOT make the mistake to subscribe. Update: Read the review before you provide your generic answer. i wrote you 3 times and you didnt answer. Now, after receiving one star, you write here. But still dont cancel the payment request.
