Web Video Cast | Browser to TV — FAQ

Is Web Video Cast a scam?

No. Web Video Cast is a long-established casting app with a one-time premium purchase, and many reviewers say it is the only casting app that works with their TV. A few frustrated users call the developers scammers when casting stops working for them, but there is no payout or fraud angle, the complaints are about bugs and ads, not stolen money.

2026 tried again STILL NOT WORKING, DOESN'T EVEN HAVE CAPABILITIES TO CAST TO DEVICES NOW, FAILS EVERY SINGLE TIME BUT THE BUTTON REMAINS. DEVS ARE SCAMMERS.

Is Web Video Cast safe?

It is a legitimate app from an established developer. The main safety-adjacent complaint is about the ads in the free version: some reviewers report ad close buttons that instead open the browser or Play Store, or fake security warnings, which are risky third-party ads rather than the app itself. Premium removes the ads.

can't close ads. when you hit the "X" to close, it opens your browser and sends you to websites or sends you to the app store. Lord knows what it's loading into your device

Why are there so many ads in Web Video Cast?

Many recent reviewers say the free version's ads have gotten much worse over the last few months: full-screen ads lasting a minute or more, appearing every time you switch site or open stream options, and sometimes needing several taps to close. The paid version removes ads and is the fix reviewers recommend.

Used to love this app but they've really ramped up the ads as of the last few months. Used to be a couple pop ups and maybe a video ad here and there, now it seems there's a disruptive, 1 minute long, fullscreen ad that you have to click out of about 10 separate times every single time you switch website or open the stream options. Quite disappointed with this to be honest, as it's a very convenient app that's becoming less so.

Why won't Web Video Cast detect or cast YouTube videos?

A large, recent cluster of reviews reports that the app has stopped detecting YouTube videos for a couple of months, the yellow video button does not appear, so there is nothing to cast, even for people who paid specifically for that feature. Reviewers say live streams still work but regular YouTube videos do not.

Youtube stopped working on the app. I can't cast youtube videos anymore.

Why does casting keep stopping, buffering or disconnecting after a few minutes?

Reviewers report playback stopping or getting stuck buffering after roughly four to seven minutes, and recent updates causing the app to repeatedly disconnect from the receiver, in some cases requiring a phone restart to reconnect. Several say this happens on fast connections, pointing to an app or update problem.

New update with new issues created again. Now the app constantly disconnects itself from the receiver app Hisense. Sometimes it's bad enough that it won't reconnect until I restart my phone. I'm not your QA team figure it out.

Is Web Video Cast premium worth it?

Most reviewers say the premium unlock is good value, a cheap one-time purchase compared with other casting apps, and that it removes ads. The caveats from recent reviews: some paying users are still affected by the YouTube-detection bug, and a few report being nagged to re-verify premium on each launch.

been using the app for more than a couple of years. with the way how hard it is to make web video streaming actually work, this app works the best in my opinion. Of course, you run into problems very often but this is not because of the app, moreso the nature of streaming like this. having a one time purchase after all those years is more than fair. hope you keep it going 🤙

How do I get a refund for Web Video Cast?

Refunds are handled through Google Play and, per the app's own listing, are only issued within 24 hours of purchase with the order number provided as text. Reviewers who contacted support later report slow, templated replies and being past the refund window, so act quickly if a purchase does not work for you.

Man I don't get the overwhelming amount of positive reviews here. it's a hackjob of features that somewhat work. usually with websites that ain't Youtube lol. the choice of Useragents are extremely limited and most importantly the support is irrelevant. if you bother reporting an issue they mail back with the usual template and never really give you closure. I am past the Google Refund timeline so there's that. These kind of apps, should remain being *sourced* from *sources* and not paying for
