Why are ADT Control reviews complaining about the new update?

The new app is terrible. Please include an option to revert to the old one's layout home screen. The old one was just fine and it's better to see full images of each camera and just be able to scroll through them on the home screen like it was. I was already considering a new alarm company, if this doesn't change it may push me over to another. A suggestion, beta test your changes with some of your customers.
whoa, this new UI for the home screen is terrible. I used to not have to scroll to view arming status, video, locks, and lights, and now those are all scattered across a way too big home screen. clearly this was not end user tested, because this interface is horrific; change it back asap.
The new UI is ugly, cluttered and less intuitive. Dashboard is much uglier and crammed with useless and irrelevant info on the dashboard that can't be removed. More steps to do core actions like arm/disarm or unlock/lock doors.

Can I switch ADT Control back to the old app layout?

Does ADT Control work well for live cameras and doorbell video?

this is a edit of a previous review.. the user interface for the control apps jus changed and it's horrendous.. ADT please revert back to the previous ui. I too like many of the other reviewers have dealt with not being able to see who's at the door when they're there and only to be able to replay a video back once they've already left. I'm never able to connect to the doorbell camera immediately after the doorbell has been pushed. Out of all the other cameras. that is the worst one.
Ever since the upgrade of the app, I haven't been able to stream my camera videos. They record fine and I can view them later, but that's not the service I paid for. Went to support and got stuck talking to their terrible AI chat bot that was useless. After a while they allow me to talk to support. Might be time to look into other security services.
Always show error message when going to live view. Takes entirely to much time to reftesh to live view. Secondly, I have I don't know if my system is connected with local police. So far no very satisfied with ADT security system. An update cause me to have to change my password every time I open the app. The app times out every 3 to 5 minutes. This is unexceptable.

Does ADT Control keep logging people out or making them reset passwords?

Nest camera that plugs directly into power constantly goes offline. Your latest app update made it completely unusable. Nice job geniuses. For almost 3 years I never once had to log in. Now everytime I try to use it, not only do I have to log in, my password is wrong, which I just changed 5 minutes ago. Total garbage.
my mobile has made me reset password at least 10 times because it doesn't recognize my password and sometimes user name too was Not doing this before they updated it. this issue needs to be addressed and solved.
worthless it does not even load or remember my password anymore. i will not even let me change my password. it used to work but now it's useless.

Can ADT Control arm and disarm my system reliably from my phone?

0 stars. do not recommend adt. suggest use simplisafe, Vivint or something. latest update to app allows system to arm and automatically bypass zones without notifying customers. ADT rep said that is something they cant control. so app will bypass front door automatically and let criminals in front door at will. terrible also app has new features to see weather and irrigation settings. what ? I tried to hide those settings but go back to home screen and irrigation button is still there.
new design removes the ease of arming alarm silently or with no entry delay. now instead of having an option immediately I have to set up a custom "scene" and a whole new icon for every feasible option combination.

You can't get to real people, either, Also, Tech support is now foreign country. They try to be nice, but not knowledgeable. Get put on hold constantly. Also hold time are excessive, like 10-15 mins during weekday business hours.
After contacting and working with ADTs Tech Services group to resolve my concerns regarding the issues with this latest update. I can say little to nothing was accomplished. The app. was obviously developed with no input from actual customers, only In-house technical people.group think. Resulting in the creation of something that is limiting in its purpose. The app features much smaller camera feed images a lot of blank space and useless banners. Something good was ruined with this update.

My display has had issues for 3 weeks now. The issues were so bad, they actually gave me a 2 month discount. However, they still charged my cc. When I spoke to an agent, he gave me the phone number to call about this. I said no, they can call me. He said they are booked until Wednesday!!!!!! I have removed my payment option and all of my emergency contacts. I am discontinuing their service.
worst company! poor customer care. poor communication. They will keep taking your money even after months of trying to cancel. I had to block them through the bank. 1 star👎

How does ADT Control handle locks, garage doors, lights, and other smart-home controls?
The app description says ADT Control can manage locks, lights, thermostats, scenes, schedules, and other smart-home features. Old locks layout was better. Old layout I can see at a glance multiple locks, their status, and choose which lock to interact with from a single screen. Now I have to scroll one by one?!
The latest update is terrible. Updates should make using the app easier but now I have extra steps just to view and open/close the garage doors. I preferred having all doors including garage doors right up on the home screen. Now it is not.
This new update has changed the whole appearance and it sucks. The light settings are horrible. Can't tell what is on and off.

Not being tech savvy , it took me a minute to figure out the new app. It has many good features and I still need to learn some of them. LOL.. next update maybe you could give us a 24- 48 hour warning so I'm not stuck in home till I figure out how to turn system off. My favorite part of the update , it doesn't stop at 20 when I'm deleting . if I get on a roll of deleting old videos, it doesn't stop me.
