Is Zoosk legit?

Absolute worst dating app I've used. Zero customer support & impossible to reach. The site is a security risk. It's full of catfishers & they use old accounts to bolster their "user" numbers. Most of the profiles are many years old & are clearly not active. The app's full of glitches & most of the "features" don't work. They should feel shame for charging so much & giving so little in return to their customers. I rate them negitive 5 stars. What an embarrassment! 100% waste of time & $.

Is Zoosk free?
Zoosk is free to download, create a profile, see photos, and send Winks/Hearts. Chatting with your matches requires a paid subscription — and reviewers note both people often need to be paying for a conversation to work, with no indicator of who's subscribed. Reviewers describe the free tier as "window shopping" only, and say the paid plans are expensive for what you get.
Can't do anything productive on the all without paying. Maybe free to download but after that all you can do is window shop unless you want to pay and not cheap.

Why won't the Zoosk app open, or why does it keep asking me to update?
A mid-2026 update caused a widespread problem where the app shows an "upgrade required" screen, sends you to the Play Store, which only offers Open or Uninstall (no update), and then loops back to the same screen. Reviewers report being locked out for a day or more, and some say the update wiped their paid account and conversations, forcing them to start over on a free account. A joke! Most of the profiles are FAKE! The app stops working constantly! The same people view your over and over according to the app even if they HAVEN'T!! Now they did an update all day today to supposedly make the app better and it doesn 't even work!! It's telling you upgrade app for a better experience but when you click on that, it brings you to either Play Store or wherever you get the app from and there's nothing saying to upgrade or update the app. It just shows open or uninstall!

Are the profiles on Zoosk real and active?
Many reviewers say a large portion of profiles are fake or long-inactive — accounts unchanged for years, women's photos with a phone number written across them, and no way to sort by "last online." Update July 5, 2026: They haven't responded to the BBB or me, after they removed many features I had already paid for. No more searches, and you can't tell how old the profiles are or see if they are even active. After 11 years on the app, I know most are inactive. Click on a profile it says "They're Into You!" A lie--IT ALWAYS says that, even on profiles I know are 10 years old. So, you just write blindly to profiles, most of which are not real or active. Then pay to see if it was read.

Why can't I see who viewed me on Zoosk anymore?
The mid-2026 redesign removed or paywalled the "who viewed you" list for many users, along with message notifications and the ability to tell active profiles from dormant ones. Reviewers who had paid specifically for those features are among the most frustrated. Zoosk has not restored them in response to reviews or BBB complaints as of these reviews.
the new zoosk app is terrible. you can't see who viewed you, you can't get notifications if someone sent you a message. there is an option for the message plus that allows you to get more matches, more spotlight picks and other features that you don't actually get. zoosk used to be a decent app, but the upgrades make it seem to fake and not at all fun to use.

How do I cancel Zoosk and stop being charged?
Turn off auto-renewal in your account settings before the term ends; if you subscribed through Google Play, also cancel it there under Payments & subscriptions.
