Is EQUALS - Music Social Network safe for minors?
Reviews raise real safety concerns, especially around minors, adults sharing spaces with younger users, inappropriate messages, and alleged harassment or exposure. One reviewer praised a restriction that adults cannot message minors, but other reviewers describe the app as unsafe or too easy to misuse. Based on these reviews, anyone considering EQUALS for a teen should be cautious and review the app’s safety and privacy settings before using it.
The only good thing about this app is that adults cannot message minors. otherwise it's just a useless threads wanna be.
the app's good but I don't understand why people over 18 can speak to children. no normal adult wants to speak to children and it's weird to share spaces online with children
honestly I did enjoy this app and loved the concept, however I joined for the digital vinyls but it doesn't give me the option to collect them despite doing all the missions to do so. On top of this, they allow predators to continue using the platform. a lot of women are getting inappropriate messages from men and instead of being removed for women's comfort and safety they tell us to block. Blocking won't stop them from continuing to harrass others. gross. I'm uninstalling until further notice.

Why does EQUALS - Music Social Network ask for age verification or a face photo?
Reviewers say EQUALS asks for age verification using a face photo or selfie, and several people were uncomfortable giving facial or biometric data before knowing whether they liked the app. Others say verification failed, forced their profile photo to be their face, or was not accessible for them. The reviews do not explain the developer’s full policy, but they clearly show that face-based age verification is a major friction point.
Why is it asking for age verification and my face for, at least give us a seven days trial before asking for all that why i would enter my face to an app that i don't even know that i would enjoy
Forces you to change pfp without telling you, also your pfp must be of you at the age you told the app you were, some people are not comfortable having their pfp as their face and in an app like this it doesn't need to be
I really enjoy the premise of the app however I can't confirm my age on the app due to a disability, if the age verification was disability-friendly I'd rate it a 5/5

Does EQUALS - Music Social Network work well on Android?
Android reliability is one of the most common complaints in these reviews. Users mention black screens, crashes, loading loops, lag, chat problems, missing features, and the app getting stuck on onboarding or notification screens. Some reviewers still like the idea of EQUALS, but the Android experience described in the reviews is uneven and often buggy.
the app is good to use and it's a great way to connect with people but on my device it's open sometimes and a few times it shows black screen only I hope they can do a fix for it and make it better for Android
This app suckssss it worked fine for a couple of hours and then just crashed, I've tried deleting and reinstalling like 10 times but it won't budge also restarted my phone but this app is just stuck at the logo loading screen. The idea behind the app is good but it's terribly executed.
it's a great app and all but I hope it was developed more before it was released. Too many bugs, crashes and problems on Android.

Does EQUALS - Music Social Network support YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Spotify, and Apple Music?
Reviews repeatedly ask for more music-service support. One reviewer says account connection is limited to Spotify or Apple Music, while others specifically ask for YouTube Music and Amazon Music. There are also complaints that Apple Music or Spotify connections fail or keep loading.
| Service | What reviewers report |
|---|---|
| YouTube Music | Reviewers say they cannot connect it or ask for support to be added. |
| Amazon Music | A reviewer says they use Amazon Music and cannot connect their account. |
| Spotify | A reviewer says connecting Spotify returns “something is wrong.” |
| Apple Music | A reviewer says Apple Music takes too long to load and will not connect. |
I really love music, so being able to meet people through an app where it connects you by it is really amazing. the only thing I would change is that it only allows you to connect to your music account if it's on Spotify or apple music.... I have Amazon music so I can't connect my account which kinda ruins it because I'm not able to directly show what I am actually listening to unless I manually input it. I hope in the future you are able to add the Amazon music binding accounts, thanks!!
can't connect with YouTube music.
The app is overall good but when I connect my spotify, it says "something is wrong" then I had to try again but it kept going on days. I've also updated my spotify, still the response is the same.

Is EQUALS - Music Social Network a dating app?
The store description says EQUALS is a music social network, not a dating app, but many reviewers say the actual user behavior can feel like dating or hookup app behavior. Some reviewers still found music-focused friends and communities, so the answer depends on the spaces and people you encounter. Prospective users should expect a social app with music as the hook, not a purely music-review app.
Its more like an dating app tbh 🥀but there's some fine guys there
men be acting like its tinder or something, some people are actually fun and are interested in your music!
Idea is good but everyone is horny on it for some reason and uses it as a dating app so I deleted it!

Are EQUALS - Music Social Network features locked behind premium or a paywall?
EQUALS is listed as free, but reviewers say parts of the experience feel restricted unless you pay or use premium. Complaints mention profile viewing, digital vinyls, customization, and core features being locked or difficult to access. The reviews do not give a complete pricing breakdown, but they do warn that the free experience may feel limited.
Tried the app out because I was curious based on the ads. As someone who throughouly enjoys vinyls and other music media it seemed up my alley but similar to so many things nowadays a lot of the core features are locked behind a paywall. Additionally, you don't get a feed of music recommendations, you have to "make friends" first. Except how would you do that if you couldn't tell if this person liked the same genres as you?
It's so baaad and limited, mostly you need money to get a better experience and there's no free profile customization this app does not respect the user there's no fun
it has like a premium version. so it never gonna be a 5 star rate... unless they quit the premium thing.

Why are people complaining about EQUALS - Music Social Network ads?
A noticeable theme in the reviews is anger about ads for EQUALS appearing too often or in unwanted places. Some reviewers say they installed the app only to leave a complaint about the advertising. These reviews are about the app’s promotion, not necessarily the in-app experience, but they still shape first impressions for potential users.
I just downloaded this app to tell you, you're wasting thousands of dollars on wrong audience and it's pretty annoying that every other platform or thing one is using your ad pop ups . I have nothing to do with music or anything and I see this app ads whole day , and it's proof even after investing enormous amount of money on ads you just got 500k downloads. Ask your marketing agency to target related audience not 50 year old businessman make them accountable. Thank you!
STOP SPAMMING ME WITH ADS WITH A MAN WITH BLONDE HAIR THATS SLIGHTLY CURLY AND A WOMAN WITH LONG BROWN HAIR ATLEAST SHOW THE APP ITSELF NOT JUST THE DANG PEOPLE WITH THE TEXT "what's Instagram and Spotify combined? well it's equals" ITS GETTING ANNOYING. (I installed it just the write this🥹)
These ads I see EVERYWHERE, and it's annoying me so damn much. plus it doesn't look like what it looks like in ads, I don't get the hype. this app is overrated!

Can you listen to music or play songs in EQUALS - Music Social Network?
EQUALS describes itself as a music social network, not a streaming app. Reviews suggest some users expected more direct music playback and were disappointed when songs would not play, tracks got stuck on pause, or they could not play songs they liked. If you want a replacement for a music streaming app, these reviews suggest EQUALS may not meet that expectation.
it's good but it's very buggy—like when I try to put notes, it sometimes bugs and won't let me click the bubble, and when I try to listen to tracks, it would just be stuck at pause and won't play the song.
Just a useless app that won't do the one thing it's meant to do which is play music, won't even play 1 song, chose a different artist and it still won't play, don't waste your time on this
Worst "music" app I've ever seen. In this app people can collect digital vinyls, but what's the point of vinyls if they are digital, and you have to pay money to get these fake vinyls, which is so stupid. And you need to take a selfie and upload it as your profile picture on this app, for people who don't like to let strangers see their face, this is disrespectful! And I did not find a single place where I can listen to music here. So overall, EQUALS sucks a lot 🤮👎

Is EQUALS - Music Social Network good for making music friends?
The strongest positive reviews are from people who like meeting others through shared music taste, chat rooms, reviews, and artist communities. Reviewers mention making friends, finding common ground without awkward small talk, and enjoying music conversations. That said, the positive experience is often paired with requests for more features, fewer bugs, and better moderation.
I have made at least one great friendship whilst using this app.it is great to review music, make friends, chat to people online and there are communities for any artist.a perfect app!I've got a few people to join it!thanks equals
I like it, as an introvert, i think the common taste in music factor is great to have something as a foundation without having to fall right into the small talk treadmill, the only thing I'd like to improve is that the restrictions words and warnings are triggered unnecessarily, is way too sensitive, although I appreciate the intention to keep things safe and nice i think is worth considering that sometimes it can feel unnatural to have to monitor all the time if there's no bad intentions
there are so many great people here and this app is amazing to meet different friends from another country ❤️

Why does EQUALS - Music Social Network force notifications or get stuck on notification screens?
Several reviewers complain that EQUALS pushes them to enable notifications before they can use the app, or that the notification prompt keeps appearing and blocks progress. If you avoid push notifications, these reviews suggest onboarding may be frustrating until that behavior is fixed or changed.
it's stuck at the Turn On Notifications screen, the buttons don't work
forced notifications. I don't like nor do I ever turn on. Notifications for anything. So I don't like being forced to turn on notifications before I can even remotely explore what's going on on the on the platform. No, and remove the requirement for the push notifications. And maybe.
shitttty asked me to confirm notification and keeps popping up like crazy
