Total useless garbage, worse and worse with every update. Use general Firefox with uBlock Origin untill it still works, and turn off useless features, this all you can do today. Duckduck go is just another hidden corp hunting for fools thinking someone will protect their Privacy, same like proton.

Update: 4 years later, I STILL have this exact pop-up issue despite claims they have built in ad-blocking. Yes it is On in settings. the malware ads and popups are still getting through. They need to clone uBlock Origin's mechanism or allow extensions for this. Original: No pop-up blocker is the biggest killer with this app, it should disable opening of new pages/tabs/pop-ups by default. Especially the ones that claim I have malware on my phone; the pop-up itself being malware of course.
I hate all your nag popups to advertise browser features to me. I chose this browser specifically to try to block things and now I want to block it. Also, the ad blocking isn't blocking enough ads and doesn't seem to have any way for me to block an element which is decades old technology. are you serious?

9/2/26 I just updated the app on 9/1/26...now it keeps crashing. 😠 If I uninstall and reinstall the app I will lose all the bookmarks that I meticulously saved and organized. I have cleared the cache multiple times...force stopped the app...and cleared cache again. It still wont open. I am using a Motorola Android with system update Android 11. Solution????? HELP!!!
While the old version had its weaknesses it was still fast and usable, the new version fall even behind by getting slower while having the same issues.

I've had to delete DDG twice because it froze on "to just look up" something or "do you want to use ai". There's no place to close it out! It WAS good until this happened!! If it weren't for DDG and ai there wouldn't be a problem!! GET RID OF THE AI!!!!! I'm NOT downloading again!! It's not worth the headache!!! I had to give it a one star because there's nothing lower. DDG SUX!!!!!

it is so bad. Why is it so innacurate? Why does DuckAI have a limit that stops me at only 7 prompts? it's annoying. And it's Why I don't want to keep using this as a browser. And that's not even mentioning the security and privacy.

It gives links to articles instead of straight forward answers which makes other apps like Google easier to use. To get the straight forward answers, you have to use the ai but the whole reason why I stopped using other apps and started using duckduckgo was because I wanted to avoid the use of ai.

I'm using the vpn alongside the app tracker. The app doesn't block ads on my phone. That's the reason I rated it only 3 stars. Include ad blocker and I will rate it 5 stars.
stopped offering vpn. Has secretly signed in my google account throught its browser and stored that info and now tracks to my history. Never gave it these permissions, either you or google is stealing my data I direclty said no too. Use browser to go to google and check if does this to you also. Searching gives poor results due to the ignorance of the ai, ring back old search bar function ,not ai chosen results should better function

Latest update wiped all data?! Did the lastest update just closed all my working tabs AND magically deleted all my bookmarks without a single warning? There have been a lot of updates in the past. This one is new. Looks like a new browser but the "fireproof" data is still there (technically not wrong but confusing). 🔥 button doesn't work on download history...? I understand I'm not entitled to anything but why rush to release before testing? Who's rushing you? P.S. Privacy/AI don't mix.
It's gone all ai, just terrible. it's installed integrated chatgpt in the search tab. Doesn't save passwords for sites even after "fireproofing" them, so a bit of a faff having to sign in every time after a clear out. Suspect they're selling search data info to facebook as bombarded with ads

Yo, work on the ai. this thing just made me really mad. it can't determine how to do anything. If you ask it something all it does is say "I can't do that but I can..." , then once you choose one of the things it can do, it's just says "I can't do that but I can..." all over again. Its not able to do anything. I need an AI to help with work and running out of options. just make one thats reliable and free. nobody pays for ai's that's free version has a message cap.
